HDMI Alt Mode for USB Type-C Launched at IFA Berlin
The HDMI Licensing team demonstrated HDMI Alt Mode for USB Type-C at the IFA ShowStoppers press event in Berlin on September 1. This coincided with the release of the global press announcement on the new specification. HDMI licensing President Rob Tobias and Senior Technology Manager Jeff Park are pictured here with the demo that included an HDMI-enabled laptop with USB Type-C connected directly to an HDMI display using the new USB Type-C to HDMI cable. Now there are no adapters needed to connect to any HDMI display or TV, and native HDMI features can be incorporated into source devices that utilize USB Type-C.
