HDMI Founders Gather to Support the HDMI Alt Mode for USB Type-C Announcement
HDMI Alt Mode for USB Type-C was announced September 1 with a series of press events around the world in Berlin, Taipei, Beijing and Tokyo. The events brought together top consumer, business and industry media and featured a demonstration of an HDMI-enabled laptop with USB Type-C connected directly to an HDMI display using the new USB Type-C to HDMI cable.
The Tokyo event also featured some of the biggest and most influential consumer electronics manufacturers, as it brought together representatives from all of the HDMI Founders to show their support for this launch. They were able to meet the press and lend their expertise in answering questions about HDMI Alt Mode, and their presence highlighted the importance of this new HDMI specification release.
