On Monday, June 8, 2009, HDMI Licensing, LLC issued a press release announcing the release of the HDMI Specification Ver.1.4, now available to Adopters. This latest version of the HDMI specification will, among other advancements, offer networking capabilities with Ethernet connectivity and add an Audio Return Channel to enable upstream audio connections via the HDMI cable.

The HDMI Specification Ver.1.4 is now available for download by Adopters.
